April 13, 2011 GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 12, 2011) - Today at Thornblade, Jay Haas, Jr. and Brian Duncan beat out 25 other pros to win two
professional exemptions in the 2011 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation golf tournament.
Both pros shot
a -2 under par 69.
This is the second year that tournament officials have held a competition for exemptions.
"The Upstate has a tremendous
number of talented professional golfers," explained Tournament Director Darin MacDonald. "This qualifier is a great way to
determine which two will be awarded one of the coveted exemptions."
The 25 additional pros that participated in the
competition included Kevin Schreel, Drew Perry, Ben Duncan, Matt Hendrix, Nick Biershenk, David Robinson, Philip Mollica,
Garrett Osborn, Jose Alvarez, Tyler Rody, Jay McKnight, Nick Cassini, Stephen Poole, Josh Gallman, Daniel Bowden, Alex Hamilton,
Garland Ferrell, George Bryan IV, H.B. Hale, Michael Lawrence, Jr., Bobby MacWhinnie, Adam Hart, Luke Hart, David May and
Brandon Christo.
Haas, Jr., a Greenville native, currently competes on the eGolf Tour. He is a graduate of Augusta
State and is the son of legendary PGA TOUR pro Jay Haas.
Duncan, also of Greenville, competed on the Nationwide Tour
in 2009 and 2010, and is currently 10th on the eGolf Tour money list. A graduate of Clemson University, Duncan resides in
Charleston.
