SYNOPSIS
 The weather at Southern Hills Country Club during the PGA Championship was nothing short of steamy. The average temperature in Tulsa that week was 101 degrees and the heat index on the weekend climbed to 110. Tiger Woods was as hot as the weather, too -- after he rebounded from an opening round 71, that is. Woods did that in style, shooting a 63 in the second round that could have been the low round ever in a major had that putt on the 18th hole not stubbornly spun out of the hole. Rounds of 69 on the weekend allowed Woods to hold off his Presidents Cup teammate Woody Austin by two strokes and a hard-charging Ernie Els by three. His 13th major tied equaled the total set by the legendary Bobby Jones. "If you would ask me that 12 years into my career would I have had this many wins and this many majors, there's no way," Woods said. "I've exceeded my own expectations and I'm certainly not against that."
