Giuliani plays his way into South Georgia Classic

The son of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has Monday qualified for the South Georgia Classic Presented by First State Bank and Trust Company.

Andrew Giuliani shot 66 at Glen Arven Country Club to finish second behind Troy Kelly in the qualifer. This will be his first time playing on the Nationwide Tour. He will be playing the first and second rounds with John Smoltz and Jason Enloe, teeing off at 9:05 a.m. ET.

Previously, he appeared twice on the Golf Channel's Big Break. He also took a shot at a PGA TOUR card, entering q-school in 2009, but he was unable to make it past the first stage.

In 2009, Giuliani won his first professional tournament -- the Met Open Championship, a regional championship event held at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, N.J.

Other Monday qualifiers include Kelly, Ted Porter, Jr., Matt Boyd, Alex Hamilton, Bob Burns, Scott Parel, Chris Parra, Ryan Nelson, Brian Harman, Matt Hendrix, Michael O'Neal, Brent Long and Cole Willis.
