• U.S. Junior Amateur champion Jordan Spieth moved to 6-under 204 after a 3-under 67 on Saturday. He sits T7 and six strokes behind Jason Day. Spieth becomes the first amateur to record three consecutive rounds in the 60s since Danny Lee posted four straight in finishing T20 at the 2008 Wyndham Championship.

• At 16 years, 9 months and 24 days, Spieth became the sixth youngest player in TOUR history to make a cut. The junior at Jesuit College Prep School in Dallas has signed a letter of intent to play golf at the University of Texas.

• A win on Sunday by Spieth would give him the opportunity to accept membership on the TOUR on his 18th birthday in July of 2011. Once 18, he would have 60 days to accept membership, which would then run until the end of the 2012 season.

• Even without membership on the PGA TOUR, a win would gain Spieth entrance into the following events: 2010 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, 2010 Memorial Tournament, 2010 AT&T National, 2010 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, 2011 SBS Championship, 2011 Arnold Palmer Invitational, 2011 Masters Tournament and the 2011 PLAYERS Championship. A non-member is allowed 12 starts in a season, with a maximum of seven sponsor's exemptions among that total. Spieth is next scheduled to play at the 2010 St. Jude Classic presented by Smith & Nephew via a sponsor's exemption.

• The last amateur to win a PGA TOUR event was Phil Mickelson at the 1991 Northern Telecom Open. The last amateur to finish in the top 10 was Chris Wood at the 2008 British Open (T5).

• There have been six amateurs to finish in the top 20 at the HP Byron Nelson Championship: Cpl. Earl Stewart Jr. (1944/5th), Wally Ulrich (1945/5th), Frank Stranahan (1946/T4), Earl Stewart Jr. (1946/T4), Dick Martin (1957/T11) and Scott Verplank (1986/T19). The last amateur to make the cut was Colt Knost in 2007 (T67). Tiger Woods was the last high school golfer to play in the HP Byron Nelson Championship (MC).
