Australian Jason Day, making his inaugural appearance at the TPC Four Seasons Resort, carded a 3-under 67 on Saturday to take a two-stroke lead over rookie Blake Adams heading into the final 18 holes of the 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Day, a 22-year-old resident of Fort Worth, Texas, is making his 13th start of the season and currently sits at No. 136 on the FedExCup points list. After a slow start to the season, he has posted all three of his top-25 finishes in his last five starts on TOUR, finishing T25 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T22 at the Verizon Heritage and T22 at the Quail Hollow Championship.
Day's only previous 54-hole lead/co-lead came at the 2009 Puerto Rico Open, where a final-round 71 led to a T2.

Tom Pernice Jr. carded a 4-under 66 to sit T4 heading into the final round. The 50-year-old Pernice is the oldest player in the field. On Saturday, he was paired with the youngest, 16-year-old Jordan Spieth. On Sunday, Spieth will be paired with Corey Pavin, the second-oldest player left in the field this week.
Ten of 20 third-round leaders/co-leaders have gone on to victory this season on TOUR, most recently Jason Bohn at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Blake Adams, currently in solo-second place and two strokes behind Day, is playing in his 14th career PGA TOUR event. He has now made eight cuts this season. Adams is ranked ninth among rookies with 207 FedExCup points. Overall, Adams is ranked 116th in the FedExCup standings. Adams' only top 10 this season was at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am (T10).
One day after tying the course record with a 9-under 61, Cameron Beckman posted a 5-over 75 on Saturday and sits T13. He is making his ninth start at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. His only top 10 is T8 in 2002.
Corey Pavin, who is attempting to become the first player to win all four Texas Swing tournaments during his career on the PGA TOUR, posted his third consecutive round in the 60s (68-67-69) to sit T7 . Pavin's victories in the Lone Star State include the 1984 Shell Houston Open, 1985 and 1996 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial and the 1988 Valero Texas Open.
Defending champion Rory Sabbatini turned in a 3-over 73 to sit T29 in his attempt to become the first repeat winner of the HP Byron Nelson Championship since Tom Watson won three in a row from 1978-80. Sabbatini is making his 12th start at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, with a win in 2009 and T3 in 2007 his best outings.
2007 HP Byron Nelson Championship winner Scott Verplank (T16) is making his 24th start at the tournament. Just three players have made more starts (28 - Lanny Wadkins and Tom Watson; 27 -- Ben Crenshaw).
Dallas, Texas native and resident Matt Weibring (67) is currently T16. He is making his third start at the event, missing the cut in 2005 and T52 in 2009. Weibring's Dad, D.A., spearheaded the $10 million redesign of the TPC Four Seasons prior to the 2008 tournament. The elder Weibring played in the tournament 22 times, with runner-up finishes in 1993 and 1995.
