Weather: Sunny and cool, with a high temperature of 65. Winds NW 10-20 mph.

Camilo Villegas (66), a 28-year-old native of Medellin, Colombia, and Anthony Kim (64), a 24-year-old native of Los Angeles, moved to 8-under-par 132 to share the second-round lead at The Honda Classic. They hold a one-stroke cushion over 47-year-old Vijay Singh (66) and a two-stroke lead over Jerry Kelly (65).
Villegas and Kim share other similarities on the PGA TOUR, with each player posting two wins, three runner-up finishes and six third-place finishes during their careers.
Four players equaled Luke Donald (R1/2008) and Greg Chalmers' (R2/2009) course record at PGA National on Friday with 6-under 64s:
Mike Weir -- best round on TOUR since a final-round 61 at 2009 Frys.com Open/T6.
Paul Casey -- equaled career-best round on the PGA TOUR/last time 2007 Arnold Palmer Invitational/R1.
Stephen Ames -- best since 63 in the final round at the 2009 Bob Hope Classic.
Anthony Kim -- best round since opening 62 at 2009 AT&T National/finished third.
Camilo Villegas
It has been a whirlwind week for Villegas, who followed up a T8 finish at last week's Waste Management Phoenix Open -- one of two top-10 finishes in as many starts in 2010 (3rdat the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship) -- with a quick trip to his home country to help kick off this week's Pacific Rubiales Bogota Open on the Nationwide Tour.
Villegas is making his fifth-career start at The Honda Classic, with a runner-up finish in 2007 his best outing. This is his 111th career start on the PGA TOUR, with two wins (2008 BMW Championship, 2008 THE TOUR Championship), three runner-up finishes and six third-place finishes.
This represents the seventh 36-hole lead of Villegas' career. A victory at the 2008 BMW Championship and a runner-up finish at Doral in 2006 are his best finishes in those events.
Anthony Kim
Kim is making his third start at tThe Honda Classic finishing T46 in 2007 and T49 in 2008.
Kim has made the cut in all four starts in 2010, with a T24 at last week's Waste Management Phoenix Open his best finish. He is seeking his third-career win (2008 Quail Hollow Championship, 2008 AT&T National).
Miscellaneous
The cut came at 3-over 143 with 74 players advancing to the weekend. One of those players was Blake Adams (68), who birdied the last three holes (Nos. 7-9) to make the cut on the number.
Vijay Singh (67-66) is making his ninth start at The Honda Classic, but his first at PGA National for this event. He won the tournament in 1999 and posted runner-up finishes in 1998 and 2005.
Mike Weir's bogey-free 64 came just five days after he attended Canada's hockey victory over the United States at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. His best finish at The Honda Classic came in 2002, where he was one behind 36-hole leader John Riegger before finishing T11 at TPC Heron Bay. He has two top-20 finishes (T11 in 2002 and T19 in 2000) and three missed cuts in five previous starts at The Honda Classic.
Graeme McDowell posted a 3-under 67 to move to T5 at 5-under 135. His round included a two-stroke penalty at the 18th hole for violating Rule 13-4 (Ball in Hazard: Prohibited Action).
The 36-hole leader/co-leader has gone on to win two of eight stroke-play events on the 2010 PGA TOUR: Ryan Palmer (Sony Open in Hawaii) and Dustin Johnson (AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am).
Holding the second-round lead hasn't been a good omen at The Honda Classic. Only twice in the past 13 years has the 36-hole leader won -- Jesper Parnevik in 2001 and Y.E. Yang in 2009. Over the past 22 years, only five second-round leaders have won -- Yang, Parnevik, Tim Herron (1996), Mark O'Meara (1995) and Steve Pate (1991).
Defending champion Y.E. Yang improved his first-round score by nine strokes with an even-par 70, but still missed the cut. Yang garnered attention earlier this week when it was announced that recently-donated autographed items (a signed pin flag and the shirt he wore during the final round of last year's PGA Championship) earned $7,500 for a fundraising auction for the school where his kids attend in Southlake, Texas.
Two-time The Honda Classic champion Mark Calcavecchia holed a pitching wedge from 135 yards for eagle at the par-4 17th hole en route to a 1-under 69. The eagle moved him to 2-over and safely inside the cut. It is the 514th made cut of his career (729 starts).
Sam Saunders, grandson of Arnold Palmer, posted a second-consecutive 1-under 69 to make the second cut of five career starts on the PGA TOUR. He'll play on Sunday for the first time though, as the 2010 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am field was reduced to the top 60 and ties after 54 holes. The top 70 and ties (79 total) that week, including Saunders (T70), were paid and received FedExCup points.
Bogey-free rounds:
Round 1: Nathan Green (65), Michael Connell (65), Oliver Wilson (66)
Round 2: Mike Weir (64), Stephen Ames (64), Rocco Mediate (65), Steve Flesch (66), Jason Bohn (67), Alex Cejka (68)
